Bryant Secures First Arthur Ross Memorial Event Finals Title

The Arthur Ross Memorial Event Final, Croquet New Zealand’s premier Association Croquet handicap tournament, was contested at Rangatira Croquet Club from the 11th to 13th of March 2022. After being cancelled during the 2020-21 season due to Covid-19 restrictions, it was exciting to see 14 Associations represented.

Greg Bryant (Wellington) secured his maiden Arthur Ross Memorial Event Finals Title to add his name to yet another national trophy.

Bryant began his quest for the title winning 6 of his 7 preliminary games to reach the semi-finals. He was joined in the semi-finals by Luke Rive (Auckland), Peter Fage (Bay of Plenty), and Callum McKinnon (Manawatu-Wanganui).

Bryant beat Rive in the first semi-final 26-21, while Fage beat McKinnon 26-15. Bryant then went on to win the final 26-16 and secure the 2021-22 title.
