2020-21 CNZ Tournament Update

Women’s GC Tournament – 17th & 18th October
Cancelled
The Government announced today that Auckland would formally move to Alert Level 2 from Wednesday, 23rd of July, and would remain at that Level for at least 14 days. The rest of the country would move to Alert Level 1 from 11.59pm tonight.

Unfortunately, with Auckland remaining in Alert Level 2, the 2020-21 Women’s GC Tournament has been cancelled in line with the Croquet New Zealand 2020-21 Tournament Guidelines.

North and South Island Golf Croquet Championships – 5th – 8th November
As mentioned above, the Government today announced that Auckland would move to Alert Level 2 from Wednesday, 23rd September, and the rest of New Zealand would move to Alert Level 1 from 11.59pm tonight.

With Auckland remaining at Alert Level 2 for at least 14 days, this will place some uncertainty on the Golf Croquet Island Championships, with the CNZ 2020-21 Tournament Guidelines requiring Alert Level 1 for the entire country four weeks before the commencement of the event.

In order to give these Championships the best chance to be held, a final decision will be made following the Government’s decision on October 5th.
