Croquet New Zealand is excited to announce the players selected to compete in the 2022 AC Invitations.
The Invitations will be held between the 16th and 20th of March 2022 in Manawatu-Wanganui and Otago. This year will see 12 of the 19 Associations represented at the various AC Invitation events.
The AC Top 8 is headlined by the 2021-22 NZ Open Singles champion, Paddy Chapman, who will be looking to add another trophy for the season. However, he will have stiff competition from fellow 2022 MacRobertson Shield squad members, Greg Bryant, Edmund Fordyce, Chris Shilling, and Aaron Westerby.
Unfortunately due to the lack of availability, the Second and Third 8 AC Invitations have been reduced to 6 players each and will now be contested over four days (17th – 20th March), rather than the previously scheduled five days.
A similar scenario has occurred with the 0-3.5 and 4+ Invitations. As these two invitations were being played in Otago, and to ensure there is still a competition available for these players, the two Invitations have been combined for 2021-22.
As always, you can keep up to date with all the scores from CNZ events on Croquet Scores.
Congratulations to the following players (listed in alphabetical order);
