The Wellington team were the clear winners of the 4th edition of this player development event, hosted at the Mt Maunganui Croquet Club over Labour Weekend.
On their way to victory, Wellington started strongly, crushing Orewa 9–0, followed by wins against Whakatane 5–4 and Waireka 6–3. After failing to win a single game against Wellington, Orewa bounced back on days 2 & 3 to claim second place with a 7–2 win over Waireka and a 4.5–4.5 draw with Whakatane.
The competition, featuring high–low doubles – the majority of which are played as alternate stroke – once again proved to be a great way to start the season.
