Croquet New Zealand is seeking applications for two Board positions, to fill the vacancies left by Appointed Board Members Fiona Martin and Michael Naylor who are retiring from the Board in March 2024.
About Croquet New Zealand
Croquet is played recreationally and competitively in over twenty countries globally. A very social game, it attracts a diverse group of players including an equal number of men and women.
Croquet New Zealand (CNZ) is the National Sports Organisation (NSO) charged with the development and promotion of croquet in New Zealand. There are 19 Associations, 114 Clubs, over 4,800 members nationwide. In the two main forms of the sport New Zealand competes in the top tier so croquet is clearly a sport on the rise.
In October 2020, a new Constitution was approved at the AGM allowing independent board members for the first time in the organisation’s history. The 2021-2026 Strategic Plan has CNZ preparing for some exciting changes that will set the platform to propel further growth.
About the role
CNZ is seeking two (2) experienced independent board members to join the CNZ Board. The successful applicants will play an instrumental role in the continued growth and development of croquet in New Zealand.
CNZ is looking for applicants with the following attributes.
- Governance in the not-for-profit or similar sector.
- Play, active recreation and sport sector knowledge and experience.
We are particularly keen to receive applications from candidates who have IT or Marketing expertise.
Time Commitment and Term
The successful candidates will be appointed for a term of two (2)-years and can be re-appointed for a maximum of three (3) consecutive terms.
The CNZ Board meet monthly on the third Monday of each month except January. Occasionally there will be face to face meetings which will require attendance as well as attendance at the Annual General Meeting.
Remuneration
This role is on a voluntary basis.
